Episode 12 | Discomfort as a Personal Growth and Parenting Tool

This episode is ALL about discomfort and challenging your views on the role of it in your life and parenting. Sure, everyone wants have comfort in their life, and it’s great to a certain extent. However, no major breakthroughs in life happen without discomfort first. In this episode, I share my personal experiences with getting really uncomfortable and embracing the difficult as well as how to encourage independent and resilient children. If you’ve ever wondered if you’re living your life to the fullest and really getting after what you desire, this episode will give you the tools and motivation to embrace discomfort.

Episode 11 | Creative Work in Motherhood

This episode features my interview with Kelsey Wharton, fellow podcaster, creative, and mom of 2. You may know her from the Girl Next Door Podcast with Erica Ladd, from her blog Rising*Shining or from the podcast she shares with her husband, Matrimoney. Kelsey has spent the majority of her adult years working in a full-time job outside the home as an academic science research writer and only recently quit to focus on her non-fiction book proposal. We discuss what it was like for her to experience both working outside the home and in it as well as how she prioritizes her creative work. She offers a litmus test for whether or not the work you’re doing is worth continuing and how limiting labels, such as stay at home mom or working mom, can be. Kelsey also shares time organization strategies and her favorite life hacks for making time for what matters most. We had such a fantastic conversation that I am sure Kelsey will be back on the show again in the future!

Episode 10 | Overcoming Roadblocks to Pursue Your Dreams

Have you ever spent some time thinking about what you really desire out of your life? What would your ideal life look like and how would you use your time? Sometimes it can feel hard to even think like this because of perceived limitations, whether real or not. Sometimes it can feel hard to think about our own dreams when we’re part of a partnership and are worried about how our partner might handle our dreams. And sometimes we might find it hard to think about our own dreams when we have so much responsibility on our shoulders, children to care for, a home to manage, and work to complete. Maybe you have a dream or idea on your mind but worry about the financial aspect of it, would it cost to much, would it use up your family’s precious resources, OR, if it’s a business idea, can I be profitable? In Episode 10, I share my journey to creating a life that I truly love and offers some practical advice for working through your own limitations.

Episode 9 | When You’re Sleep Deprived…

This episode is ALL about rest, the kind of rest that you’ve been majorly craving for yourself. Rest isn’t for when your kids are older, when your baby sleeps through the night, or when you aren’t working a full-time job. In this episode, I share practical ways to find more rest now, regardless of your situation.

Episode 4 | Creating a Healthy Home with Rosica Petrova of Home of Wool

What would you do if your newborn baby was sick and you suspected you knew the reason? How far would you go to help your child be healthy and also use your knowledge to benefit other people? That’s the big question that my guest, Rosica Petrova, asked herself when her son was born. She was a mother on a mission, seeking answers to his problems and —when no one else could solve the problem— she did herself, ultimately leading to the founding of her company, Home of Wool. This episode is so relatable, inspiring, and informative!

Wouldn’t it be great if motherhood came with an instruction manual? While there isn’t one, as far as I know, you do have a wealth of wisdom inside you to draw from.
